As part of a formal review of consent conditions associated with a flood control scheme, Ridley Dunphy Environmental Limited (RDE) , has been engaged by the Waikato Regional Council Integrated Catchment Management Department to project manage the regulatory review process. This review was initiated by key stakeholders within the catchment and RDE was engaged to take the review through the formal RMA process. This included pre hearing meetings, formal mediation, hearing, appeal process and environment court mediation. Acting as project managers this has included coordination of many stakeholders, technical assessment and communication of the necessary outcomes to Waikato Regional Council (WRC). WRC have further recognised the importance of a catchment management plan in this process and have now also initiated development of this CMP process. RDE have been engaged as a project manager for this CMP to take it through to full development ready for implementation.
