The Southern Corridor Improvements Project extends for 9.5km over this section of State Highway 1 (SH1). Ridley Dunphy Environmental Limited (RDE) provided expert advice in drafting the Construction Water Management Report associated with this road widening project. Not a typical earthworks project, RDE sought innovative ways in addressing erosion and sediment control which involved the use of check dams in permanent swales, utilisation of permanent stormwater features and a cut and cover methodology. Non-structural measures were also promoted. The Construction Water Management Report assisted in the successful granting of resource consents and associated conditions.
